Strong cooperation: Composites for Europe and Leichtbau BW join forces
Composites for Europe and Leichtbau BW, together with the VDMA Working Group on Hybrid Lightweight Construction Technologies and the AVK, are joining forces in a long-term cooperation and creating synergies for all players in the lightweight construction sector. This year, the Business Summit for Composite Materials, Composites for Europe, and the Technology Day Lightweight Construction Innovation Camp are being held in parallel for the first time, making Stuttgart the industry's place to be in the week from 9 to 12 November.
"This cooperation fits perfectly into the new concept of Composites for Europe, as Baden-Württemberg is a leading lightweight construction region with numerous key players. Our two event formats complement each other perfectly and together cover the entire spectrum of lightweight construction", explains Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel, Event Director at the organiser Reed Exhibitions. "The cooperation will open up countless business opportunities for trade fair visitors and participants in the camp in a short space of time and in short distances. This bundling makes for the most important event in lightweight construction this year," adds Dr. Wolfgang Seeliger, Managing Director of Leichtbau BW GmbH.
Participants benefit from the proximity of the events in terms of time and space and can look forward to even more networking and business contacts. To this end, the exhibitors at Composites for Europe (10 to 12 November) at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre will present innovative new products and offer a comprehensive market overview with future-oriented application presentations from the world of fibre-reinforced composites. There will be links to the key topic of lightweight construction, for example, in the field of smart design and questions relating to virtual product creation processes. Composites for Europe thus also picks up on the megatrend of digitization in an application-oriented way.
At the Technology Day Lightweight Construction Innovation Camp (9 and 10 November) at the Mövenpick Hotel Stuttgart Messe & Congress, the community will meet in the direct vicinity of the trade fair centre to discuss trends and solutions for current challenges. In addition to exciting sessions with lectures, there will be interactive formats such as camps with OEMs, round tables or speed geekings on topics such as additive manufacturing, future textiles, international (lightweight) markets and digital process chains for CO2-neutral production. "With open formats away from lectures, we want to enliven the culture of innovation so that the participants can actively exchange ideas and approaches on site, for example on how to find new ways out of the crisis," explains Seeliger. To this end, participants can put together their own personal program online.
