Laser Finishing of composites opens up efficiency potentials
The benefits of laser-based technologies include high flexibility and non-contact, wear-free finishing. In addition to this, the introduction of energy precisely tailored to the given application makes it possible to also finish materials sensitive to temperature.
Powerboats, cruise vessels and sailing yachts: maritime applications are a small but steadily growing segment for composites. In North America most powerboats and sailing yachts are built. This is also where the most extensive development efforts are undertaken. Composite applications in boat and shipbuilding are also in focus at COMPOSITES EUROPE.
