AVK - Industrievereinigung Verstärkte Kunststoffe e.V.
The AVK, as the German professional association for fibre composite plastics/composites, represents the interests of producers and processors of reinforced plastics/composites on a national and a European level. The AVK currently has over 220 member companies and is therefore one of the largest associations in the European composites sector. It represents members along the entire value-added chain in the area of reinforced plastics. Its members include manufacturers and suppliers of raw materials as well as processing companies, machine-tool manufacturers, engineering firms, testing authorities and scientific institutions. The association represents both small and medium-sized companies as well as major multinational concerns. Its services include organisation of task forces, seminars and conferences as well as providing market relevant information. The AVK awards once a year her AVK innovation award. The renowned AVK Conference was replaced in 2015 by the International Composites Congress (ICC). the Congress will be held in Düsseldorf from 28 to 29 November 2016. The AVK is one of the four national pillars of the GKV – Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie and an international member of the European composites confederation EuCIA – the European Composites Industry Association. The AVK is a foundation member of Composites Germany.

VDMA Working Group Hybrid Lightweight Technologies
The working group Hybrid Lightweight Technologies within the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) was established in January 2016. The working group’s member firms have been active already in the former Composite Technology Forum. They are mainly technology suppliers for the manufacturing of fibre composite parts and light construction components in the combination of composites and metal. The working group's cooperation is open not only to the 180 VDMA member firms along the value creation chain, but also to users, supplier industries and research institutes. The machinery manufacturing skills in lightweight construction are matched with the requirements of customer industries. It is the aim to develop production, automation and joining technologies throughout Europe, which are not confined to any particular material, so that sustainable jobs can be created. VDMA working group Hybrid Lightweight Technologies is a founder-member of the Composites Germany and a promotional supporter of the Composites Europe trade fair.
