AVK - Industrievereinigung Verstärkte Kunststoffe e.V.
The Federation of Reinforced Plastics (AVK) is the German trade association which represents the interests of manufacturers and processors on a national and European level. Its more than 220 member companies make it one of the largest trade associations in the composites sector in Europe. It represents members from along the entire value creation chain in reinforced plastics. The list of members includes commodity producers and material suppliers as well as processors, machine builders, engineering offices, testing authorities and scientific institutes. Small and medium-sized enterprises are to be found among the members, as are (multinational) concerns. The range of services offered also includes specialist working groups, seminars and conferences as well as the provision of market-relevant information. Once a year, the AVK presents its AVK Innovation Award. The renowned AVK Conference was succeeded in 2015 by the International Composites Congress (ICC). This year, the congress takes place on 18–19 September 2017 in Stuttgart. At national level, the AVK is one of the four supporting members of the German Association of Plastics Converters (GKV) and internationally is a member of the European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA). The AVK is a founder member of Composites Germany.

Composites Germany
With their trade organisation, Composites Germany, the four powerful bodies in the fibre composites sector (AVK, Carbon Composites, CFK Valley and VDMA Forum Composite Technology) want to strengthen the German composites industry and research sector, determine common positions and take overlapping interests into account. Since 2015, Composites Germany has been staging the annual International Composites Congress (ICC) which this year takes place on 18–19 September 2017 in Stuttgart. This congress replaces the renowned AVK Conference.

VDMA Working Group Hybrid Lightweight Technologies
The Working Group Hybrid Lightweight Technologies within the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) consists of over 200 members. The organisation brings together mostly technology suppliers for the production of fibre composite materials and lightweight components made of a combination of composites and metal. Users, suppliers and research institutions are involved in the Working Group, in addition to VDMA member organisations from along the value creation chain. This brings together the engineering side of lightweight construction with the requirements of the customer industries. The objective is to further develop automation and joining technologies across the material spectrum throughout Europe and in so doing create future-proof jobs. The Working Group Hybrid Lightweight Technologies is a founder member of Composites Germany and patron and partner of the Composites Europe trade fair.
