Process Live: Trans-Textil and Composyst show vacuum infusion processes

The Airbus patented VAP® process (vacuum assisted process) is based on the use of semipermeable VAP® membrane systems from Trans-Textil GmbH as a gas-permeable resin barrier. These enable the removal of air inclusions and reaction gases during the entire resin infusion process. The matrix remains stable in the mould.
The technology partners Trans-Textil and Composyst cover the entire production chain from the development and manufacture of the VAP® membrane systems through design and process planning to component manufacture including know-how transfer and training. At COMPOSITES EUROPE, both companies will present the VAP® process in live demonstrations.
The use of qualified VAP® membranes offers maximum process reliability. Even large-area and geometrically complex components can be manufactured with VAP® in one step without autoclave, which is why it is particularly suitable for structures in aircraft construction.
Due to its high process reliability, VAP® has become a preferred process for the infiltration of rotor blades for wind turbines. In addition, the process has proven itself in the manufacture of structural components in shipping, rail and road transport, mechanical engineering and equipment construction, as well as in architecture and the leisure industry.
