Process Live: Hufschmied, Open Mind and VisCheck show milling processes with quality control
On the basis of a CFRP component, visitors to the fair can see a complete machining process - from CAD/CAM to milling and quality evaluation.
The exchange of process data when milling a component and quality assurance data makes it possible to intervene in the machining process if process data deviates from defined production, quality or threshold values.
As a result of process monitoring and inline quality controls, it can be expected that production and quality assurance costs can be reduced by 25% to 30%. In addition, the production costs of processing can be reduced, since milling tools can be used, for example, until their actual end of service life and not only up to a statistically defined minimum tool life.
The process chain shown at COMPOSITES EUROPE is divided into three steps:
- Creating the milling path using CAD/CAM (Partner: Open Mind Technologies)
- The milling process: Three different clamping concepts are shown on the milling machine (Reichenbacher ECO LT2012), which make it clear to the visitor how the clamping situation affects the result.
- The evaluation of the machining result (Partner: Vischeck). Inline quality assurance is shown here.
The special area will be realized jointly by Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme, Open Mind Technologies and VisCheck.
The "Process live" area can be found at the booth of Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme, 9A36 / 9A46.
