„Impetus for innovation“: ICC 2019 programme now available

31 May 2019

From material requirements in “New Mobility” and in the construction sector to progress in the large-scale production of composites components to new markets: the International Composites Conference 2019 will inject fresh impetus for innovation into the market. From 10 to 12 September, the industry meeting will bring together processors and users of fibre-reinforced plastics from across Europe in Stuttgart. New: the conference will take place concurrently with the COMPOSITES EUROPE trade fair this year. The lecture programme, which is designed by the trade association Composites Germany, and the trade fair are moving closer together as well when it comes to the topics covered.

In plenary sessions at the start of the trade fair on Tuesday morning, all trade fair and conference visitors will get a current overview of the composites markets in Europe, the US and, specifically, the UK – this year’s partner country for the conference. Following the market overview will be the keynote presentation titled “The future of automobility: insights from transport research” by Dr. Christine Eisenmann from the German Aerospace Center.

Afterwards, participants will be able to choose lectures from two parallel tracks: Building & Infrastructure or Mobility. On Wednesday, the track choices on the agenda are Thermoplastics or Thermosets and later Bio-based Composites or the Process-Tech Forum. Everyone will get back together for the Wednesday evening event, the Composites Night. It’s the perfect opportunity to deepen contacts with your fellow attendees.

Thursday at the trade fair will be the perfect day to learn about standardisation in fibre-reinforced plastics as well as about new applications. Closing out the day and the trade fair on Thursday afternoon will be the Young Innovators Poster Session featuring institutes presenting their research.

Themed tours to complement the conference programme

Guided tours and practical demonstrations in the exhibition halls will round off the conference programme. Themed guided tours centred on composites applications, materials and markets will lead visitors straight to the stands of selected exhibitors ready to explain the latest innovations in fibreglass, thermoplastics, automotive engineering and wind energy.

As before, the presentation of the AVK Innovation Award on the afternoon of the first trade fair day will mark another highlight this year.

ICC ticket includes trade fair admission to COMPOSITES EUROPE

In the exhibition halls, the participants will meet more than 300 exhibitors from 30 countries who will come to Stuttgart to showcase materials, advances in the production and processing of fibre-reinforced plastics, and innovative application examples – in automotive engineering, aerospace, mechanical engineering, construction, wind power, and the sports and leisure sector. Besides new products, a special focus of the trade fair will be on innovative process technologies.

Further Information:

From 10 – 12 September COMPOSITES EUROPE will present all manufacturing processes relating to fibre reinforced plastics, ranging from raw materials and converting processes to lightweight construction innovations in automotive manufacturing, aviation, shipbuilding, wind power and construction. Visitors will meet with more than 300 exhibitors from 30 nations that showcase the state of the art and potential of fibre composites.

About Composites Germany:

With their trade association Composites Germany, the four powerful organisations of the German fibre composites industry aim to strengthen the German composites industry, particularly in the field of research; determine common positions; and lobby for common interests.

AVK- Federation of Reinforced Plastics e.V. (AVK), Carbon Composites e. V. (CCeV), CFK-Valley Stade e. V. (CFK-Valley) and the VDMA Working Group Hybrid Lightweight Technologies are bundling the power of their currently more than 820 active member companies to advance such forward-looking themes as high-performance composites and automated production technologies in and for Germany.
