Essen. “Lightweight is the key“ – with approximately 1,000 expected exhibitors, ALUMINIUM and COMPOSITES EUROPE will form the perfect duo for the world of lightweight construction materials in 2008. From 23 to 25 September, both trade fairs will show innovative solutions and the latest technological developments around the versatile materials aluminium and fibre-reinforced plastics in Essen.

Already two years ago, COMPOSITES EUROPE had its debut in Essen parallel to ALUMINUM. After its successful start, the trade fair for reinforced plastics was able to continue on its growth course last year in Stuttgart, registering 200 exhibitors and more than 4,100 trade visitors.

In 2008, COMPOSITES EUROPE and ALUMINIUM together will form the biggest platform for lightweight construction materials in Europe. Integrating the date of COMPOSITES EUROPE with that of ALUMINIUM creates a series of mutual synergies that will prove especially valuable for visitors from the fields of construction, design and development.

COMPOSITES EUROPE 2008: Up and Coming
Whether it’s carbon, glass, wood or cork: there is an ever-growing range and variety of material mixes in fibre-reinforced plastics. COMPOSITES EUROPE, the international trade fair for reinforced plastics shows the entire value creation chain in the composites industry. With a large number of special forums such as workshops, live demonstrations and the accompanying international AVK Conference, COMPOSITES EUROPE has succeeded in becoming the biggest B2B platform for composites in Germany after only two years. The trade fair is organised in cooperation with the European Composites Industry Association EuCIA, AVK – Industrievereinigung verstärkte Kunststoffe and the international trade magazine Reinforced Plastics.

ALUMINIUM 2008: The Number One in the Industry
ALUMINIUM is the leading trade fair for the aluminium industry worldwide. It is the meeting place for aluminium producers, aluminium processors, suppliers of technologies and equipment for aluminium production, processing and refining. Since the first ALUMINIUM in 1997, the trade fair has experienced a steady upward trend. On an exhibition surface that has meanwhile grown to 50,000 sqm in seven halls, ALUMINIUM offers everything to do with the innovative material of the future. The number of exhibitors has nearly tripled since the first ALUMINIUM. With over 15,270 trade visitors from 97 countries at the last event, ALUMINIUM is the world’s biggest trade fair for the aluminium industry today. With the help of its patron, Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie e.V. (GDA), and the European partner association EAA European Aluminium Association, the fair has developed into a central feature of the aluminium community. The fact that exhibitors and visitors travel to Essen from all over the world is proof of this. Today, every third trade visitor comes from abroad.
