Automated production in focus at COMPOSITES EUROPE 2012

• Specialist fair in Düsseldorf for the first time
• VDMA as a partner from 2012
• CFK Valley Stade and Carbon Composites networks
demonstrate competence in materials

Automated production in focus at COMPOSITES EUROPE 2012A "lightweight construction summit" of a special kind will open its gates from 9 to 11 October at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre: COMPOSITES EUROPE - the European Trade Fair for Composites - moves from Essen to the banks of the Rhine together with the parallel ALUMINIUM World Fair. More than 1,300 exhibitors from more than 50 countries are expected at this year's twin fair. At its seventh edition, COMPOSITES EUROPE will be host to 400 of these companies.

COMPOSITES EUROPE displays the entire composites process chain - from raw materials to semi-finished products and processing through to the latest technologies, machinery and services. At this year's trade fair the themes of automation and serial production of composites take centre stage.

Three months before the start of the trade fair practically all the big names in the European composites industry have already booked their stands - from the five major CFRP producers to the leading specialists in technology and automation.

CFK Valley Stade present with a joint stand for the first time
Especially the CFRP theme will be covered almost in its entirety at COMPOSITES EUROPE. With the competence networks of CFK Valley Stade - taking part in the trade fair with a joint stand of its own for the first time this year - and Carbon Composites e.V. (CCeV), COMPOSITES EUROPE also brings together the leading and most innovative companies of the CFRP technology sector in Düsseldorf.

International AVK Conference as the prelude
With more than 400 expected participants, the International Conference of the AVK - Federation of Reinforced Plastics will again be the prelude of the trade fair in 2012. From 8 to 9 October top specialists will speak at the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf on innovative applications of fibre-reinforced plastics. Conference topics will be the GRP and CFRP market and its environment, as well as current developments for serial production or solutions for joining and adhering, reparations and simulations.

VDMA Forum Composite Technology is new trade fair partner
Since the beginning of the trade fair, the European industry association EuCIA has been the partner of COMPOSITES EUROPE. In 2011 the trade fair succeeded in winning the world's largest industry association, the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA), as a second partner. Starting in 2012, the VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V.) with its Forum Composite Technology will also support the event. The VDMA will contribute its own lectures to the Composites Forum programme which accompanies the fair.

ALUMINIUM World Fair 2012 parallel with COMPOSITES EUROPE
Together with the parallel ALUMINIUM World Fair, COMPOSITES EUROPE will be one of the largest international platforms for lightweight construction this year. At the world's largest meeting place for the aluminium industry, producers, processors, suppliers of technologies and equipment for the production, processing and finishing of aluminium will meet from 9 to 11 October. This trade fair which will also take place every two years in Düsseldorf from 2012, presents the entire aluminium process chain. 750 exhibitors from 40 countries have booked their stands. Currently organiser Reed Exhibitions records an increase in surface of 20 percent. With an exhibition area of 75,000 sqm, the World Fair thus continues on its record course.

The European Trade Fair and Forum for Composites, Technology and Applications has been an annual event since 2006, alternating between the trade fair locations of Essen (to be replaced by Düsseldorf from 2012) and Stuttgart. The trade fair presents the entire composites process chain - from raw materials to semi-finished products and processing through to the latest technologies, machinery and services. Visitor target groups are designers, engineers, technicians, purchasing departments and the management of OEM and suppliers from the major application industries.
COMPOSITES EUROPE is organised by Reed Exhibitions in cooperation with the European industry association EuCIA, the VDMA Forum Composite Technology, the American association ACMA, the international specialist journal Reinforced Plastics and AVK. With 350 exhibitors and more than 7,000 visitors at the last event (2011), COMPOSITES EUROPE is the leading fair for the industry in Germany.
