ALUMINIUM and COMPOSITES EUROPE: A strong trade fair twin for lightweight constructio
• 1,300 exhibitors showcase materials trends
• Aluminium industry optimistic: Global demand is rising
• Composites sector working on automation and serial production
Lightweight construction is the current trend, and in the fields of automotive construction, aviation or civil engineering it is inseparably linked to aluminium and composite materials. This is why this is one of the most important lightweight construction summits of the year: from 9 to 11 October the ALUMINIUM World Trade Fair and COMPOSITES EUROPE, the European Trade Fair for composites showcase key technologies and applications for the lightweight construction markets in Düsseldorf. More than 1,300 exhibitors from more than 50 countries are expected.
ALUMINIUM 2012: World Trade Fair continues on record course
In the medium term, global aluminium consumption will continue to increase. The recovering demand from major application markets is also felt at ALUMINIUM 2012, the world's largest meeting place for the industry. Following its move from Essen to Düsseldorf the trade fair will start out with a strong growth (+20 %) in exhibition area and 950 exhibitors from 50 countries.
At the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre, ALUMINIUM will allocate the halls even more clearly to individual exhibition segments. The trade fair will follow the process chain, from primary products and the associated technologies (Hall 9) to casting and heat treatment as well as recycling (Hall 10) and semi-finished products (Halls 11 & 12) through to surface treatment (Hall 13) and the themes of metal working and processing, welding and joining (Hall 14).
The excellent capacity utilisation of ALUMINIUM is currently also reflected in the bookings for the five theme pavilions and six national pavilions, from the Foundry Pavilion and the Welding and Joining Pavilion to the new Distributor Pavilion and the Competence Centre Surface Technology which is dedicated to the surface treatment of aluminium.
The trade fair will be accompanied by the ALUMINIUM Conference which is planned and organised by the GDA industry association. "Aluminium - Material for the Future" is the motto of the international conference which offers a total of 30 lectures in the five sessions on the topics of processes, surface, automotive, transport and aluminium markets.
COMPOSITES EUROPE focusing on automated production
At COMPOSITES EUROPE, approximately 400 exhibitors showcase the trends in the field of composite materials - from the latest-generation GRPs to today's most innovative carbon applications in vehicle and aircraft construction. Centre of attention at this year's fair will be the topics of automation and serial production of composite materials.
Especially the subject of CFRPs will be covered almost completely by COMPOSITES EUROPE. With the CFK Valley Stade and Carbon Composites competence networks, the trade fair also brings together the leading and most innovative companies in the field of CFRP technology. For the first time, the new trade fair partner VDMA will participate in the programme of the Composites Forums accompanying the fair and contribute lectures of its own.
The practical aspect will be covered in the Product Demonstration Area, a visitor highlight at COMPOSITES EUROPE. The special display offers visitors a close-up on high-tech products, demonstrations of production and processing techniques, raw materials as well as a variety of testing procedures for composites products.
The International Conference of the AVK industrial association for fibre-reinforced plastics from 8 to 9 October will once again be the overture to the fair.
